  Alistair the owner goes above and beyond. You can have a wine tasting on arrival and breakfast is served to your front door with in a picturesque hamper. Oh and if you fancy a quick game of tennis ask for a racket.

  The Carriages is the ultimate Hunter Valley getaway.
  
  Our holiday at the carriages was beyond perfect, the breakfast, location, the rooms and the owners were delightful.
  
  The owners of the carriages really care about their establishment and do their best to make the most of your stay. There is no better place to stay. We will be coming back without question.

  We've been coming to The Carriages for 5 years now and I can truly say the new owners (Nerina and Alistair) have taken the hospitality and the overall experience of staying at this boutique hotel to a new level. They've paid attention to the details, the smaller things that makes one's stay more charming and comfortable. We usually book one of the two Spa Suites: we love the jacuzzi spa in these rooms, the Hampton/English country decor, the access to the fireplace (in the adjacent lounge room) and easy walk to Circa Roberts. And if you're travelling with family or friends you can book both Spa Suites and have the entire place to yourself (which we've done numerous times). The Carriages is a magical, peaceful place for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of city, which we use to relax and recharge. We wouldn't stay anywhere else.

  We stayed at the Guest House for 3 Nights and I could not speak highly enough of the hospitality shown by Alastair & Nerina. The rooms were spacious and clean and had everything you needed. The breakfast basket left every morning outside your room was delicious. Private wine tasting of their boutique wines on the balcony was amazing. The Carriages are in walking distance to lots of beautiful restaurants and cellar doors. I will be returning to stay again and would highly recommend The Carriages on your next visit to the Hunter.
